Might sell my 08 RS4 to go back to Porsche
There are actually three (3) truths in life, not only two (2) for me...
- Death
- Taxes
- Flakiness in my car purchases/sales (it's a sickness)
This is by no means a final decision, but I really miss my Porsche. I bought the RS4 to take over my Toyota driver + Porsche 911 combo and while it is an incredible car, I do miss the purposeful Porsche weekend experience.
My car is 2008 Daytona Grey/Black loaded. It now has 3k miles. I was religious in adhering to proper break in procedures, no abuse, etc. This is a no stories car, bone stock, no mods, basically brand new. What should I ask and expect to get if I decide to sell? I know that I will be taking a bath on what I paid out the door in December ($77k) but the question is how much of a bath.
Thanks for your thoughts and info...

D'oh...!! Where were you a week ago?
I just got my Daytona Ti car ten days ago. A road trip from texas to Oregon would have been fun.
I've had 3 aircooled 911's in my time. The new ones for whatever reason just don't do it for me. They cost way too much, and what you have to pay for options is ridiculous. For example, if you want your tail lights to be completely red it'll cost ya $640. And just about any desirable color will cost at least $690 and potentially over $3K. Power leather seats you might want you say? $3K extra. Everything is an option with Porsche these days. One day Porsche may have tires as an option. They literally look for ways to gouge their customers over there. And for me it's not about 'well if you have to ask you can't afford it'. Sorry I'm venting now. Afterall I subjected myself to Rennlist for a couple of years lol.
If I had to decide between a C4S and a R8 there would be no question as to which one I would choose.

My guess is $65K
Maybe a bit more if you can trade it in or wait around for the right buyer. A bit less if you are in a hurry. The reality is: 1) all cars depreciate, 2) luxury cars depreciate faster, 3 ) Audi's depreciate the fastest. We are at the end of the cycle for the RS4, there are new hot cars out there and dealers have new RS4's sitting on their lots they will have to move. Best of luck and let us know waht you decide.
