Milltek Catback here "in about 2 weeks"

I'll have a system or three here in "about two weeks" for instant installation on my car. We will do a video with sound to give you an idea. The Sport button is nice, but this car needs to be unleashed. -Pete, Stratmosphere. 1.866.533.1777

Only for the first 4 years/50K miles :-)
Seriously, I think you should be OK with an exhaust, but you can't really ever be 100% certain with any mod. I suppose Audi could contend that a new exhaust caused engine problems. You would likely prevail in court, if you could afford the legal fees.

Some comments on the concept...
I felt the EXACT same way until I spent some time with my car. Try to spend some time in a car to get a feel for what the button is doing. Now that I've said that, Millek DOES have a valved system that is complete. It has been run at the track several times as well. It will be available...later (not first). The valves are German-made. The system will sell for a premium over a non valved system.
I would like to have feedback about the valving feature. See, right now you have to put up with a semi-jumpy throttle to get sound. Is that good? Not always. If the system gets louder does it get more powerful with the button? Do you want to run around with less power until you push the button?
I push the button immediately since I want to hear something, but the throttle can make shifting a bit jumpy at times. A non-valved system will give you throttle choice and sound always. Sound could be tuned with resonated and non-resonated system choices.
Expect the valved Milltek to be noticable off-button but not as loud as the non-valved system on-button. Reason is that to have a valve you have to create chambers and routes for sound that have nothing to do with power.
So, the button is a fun feature but not without potential drawbacks of some sort. My personal vote would be for a valved system that made power off-button, was as loud off-button as OEM on-button and got crazy loud on-button. I also want lots of power either way. The issue is, all of those wants probably aren't possible. Something has to give.
But...it's being built for YOU, so the feedback is most important. Far more important that anything I think. -Pete, Stratmophere

Re: Milltek Catback here "in about 2 weeks"
wooo.. koool.. another mod to add to my list...
as for the Sport button, i think its nice to have just since in California, cops are cracking down on modified cars. So when we have the ability to quiet down our exhaust, why not? I think its very functional for people living in california. But again this is just me.
Question pete. If we get the nonvalved exhaust first, can we get the valve later when it comes out? or how will that work? Maybe we can just replace a section of the exhaust? Can you see how that will work later on?
I am new to the audi scene, what other mods are coming? Need more mods to get the car ready for SEMA in Vegas in november!!!
