Default Milltek catback middle hanger some times touching the drive shaft...

Has anyone else had they middle hanger touch the drive shaft. It happens with mine on right hand turns sometimes. I tried adjusting it once to get some more clearance but it started doing it again but not as frequently. It is very slight but I can hear it.

I think I'm going to have to take the middle section off and bend the hanger a but to ensure proper clearance. However, before I do that I was wondering if anyone else encounter this and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks.

Default Did you do the install or someone professional?

I'd have a good exhaust shop look at it.

Default There was not much clearance all right. Do you have the non-res middle pipe?

On my non-res, I just twisted the centre pipe away from the drive shaft and tightened and so far, no issues.

Default Installed it myself...

It is very easy to do so but I think the middle hanger should have been redesigned a bit to make sure this wouldn't happen. It only very slightly touches when going through a sweeping right turn. If you drive with you audio system even an a medium level or with windows down, you won't hear it.

I think I'll have to take the middle section off and bend the hanger just a bit. Even a 1/4" with prevent it from happening.

If you are the DIY kind, you might want to take a look.

Default I've seen pros do it - and it is an art more than a science.

I'd get someone who has lots of experience to fix it. Worth the US$30

Default No need to modify any parts. Just give a call. Something is wrong.

I had to do the same on my 3.0 V6 install. Rotated away there was clearance.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm actually swapping my non-res for res tonight.
