Minor update: 2,100 miles and I am still in the top third of the dipstick
(having added no oil). Due to night driving/passengers, most of my Father's Day trek to DC and the Bay was in "chauffeur mode", and thus far I am projecting a modest 5-10% mpg increase over my old B6S4, and attributing this to direct injection.
First few blasts to redline were, uhm, energizing.
Parktronic makes me giggle...I feel like I am on radar lock in a bad air combat flick and should be looking for Sidewinder missles.
Buying this car was an excellent idea!
Pic is part of Father's Day feast, with a background of eagles, herons, ospreys, and two mute swans.
Cheers.

Correct, but I was born in Milwaukee and grew up mostly in the DC area. Yes,
we had corn (very local), and a very good potato salad (it was 90+ fvcking degrees). Also beer, but I was driving, so I didn't have any until we returned home.
Minor cred points: The first crabs I evar dun et we caught in pots on Assateague Island, so long ago that we we staying with family friends who had a house there...I believe it is mostly National Seashore now, but I recall there being 3-4 very modest private houses at the time.

We took Fosters and a few others. I am pleased and surprised at the
lack of oil consumption, but the first 600 or so miles was exclusively dedicated to LOTS of compression braking, gear changing, and like that, in an effort to seat the piston rings. Mostly back road driving in Central New York, where eratic driving goes unnoticed, since there is no one there to notice.
Also bedded the brake pads early, you know, just in case I get to run the Tail of the Dragon some time.

Reminds me: A friend was chasing trophy brook trout in Labrador many years ago.
When he remarked to his guide on how majestic a passing bald eagle looked, the guide said, "Yeah, they taste good, too."
