Default Misfire codes

Ok had my carbon clean done a month ago... After car is cold and sits I have been getting a misfire code. p0300, and misfire in cyl 5 and 6. p0305.p0306..
I changed all my spark plugs same issue. I did notice i have the old version of coil packs. I replaced coil pack on cyl 5 and 6 and still having issue. I just replaced coilpack on cyl 1 ( i am going to see if I can get all mine replaced under recall)

Am I going down the wrong path here? Sometimes when the car starts the CEL will blink at idle then go off. Other times it will blink and stay on. I then have to clear the code. The code is always the same, the 3 above....

What more should I be looking at? Should I add the G17 Fuel additive? Could this be a fueling issue? Any input would be great thanks.

Pretty much guarantee you have leaking injectors! I had the exact same issues. Have your dealership run an injector pressure test. It will tell you which injector isn't holding pressure. I had 3 that were leaking but decided to change all 8. No issues since!

For those more knowledgeable than I:

Does running injector cleaner help at all with injectors lasting (not leaking), or is the failure mode unrelated to buildup?

As i have noted previously, there was at least one Required Vehicle Upgrade (RVU) for cold start misfires. Accordingly, ask your dealer to check on this (and other) RVUs.

I am told that most dealers simply perform RVUs during standard maintenance visits, and don't always advise the owner that they have done so.

FWIW.

I think I paid 75 buck for one. It is an easy fix and you can do it yourself. If you have a VAG it will tell you which one is bad and then just replace it.

I'd run injector cleaner for a few tank fulls and see what happens. Actually, I already do! Been doing that for years and years. Sure it's indodotal evidence, but I've never had an injector fail. But I use it mostly for the purpose of combustion chamber scrubbing in the RS4. 25ml every tank of fuel. IIRC it costs around $50 per gallon, which lasts 3 years or more. Cheap peace of mind.
