Default my 2 cents on motul (did an oil change)

so i decided to shove 10 quarts of motul 5-40 and oem filter.

the engine seems less noisy, less racketing for the lack of better term. who knows could be all in my head. i had the guy put an extra quart after all the old oil dripped out to flush the oil out.

oil change was about $180, i dont feel so bad,. i noticed even though its 5-40 it seemed thicker than the castrol.

also in the filter housing, it holds some old oil (about 1/4 - 1/2 quart) if you do not take filter out before putting new oil when you take the filter off the oil valve opens and dumps additional oil back into the pan.

in other words, leave drain plug off until you've remove the oil filter if you want to drain as much of the old oil as possible.

Sorry for my ignorance but I do not want to start tearing panels apart in the engine bay. Where should I look for the oil filter? Don't seem to see it anywhere. Thanks.

Default First things first....

Be sure that you change the filter first, then drain the oil. This is because when the filter is lifted, a valve opens allowing the used oil in the filter canister to drain into the oil pan.
