Default My alarm is barely audible - Is this normal?

The first time it went off I didn't even associate it with the security system - c'mon a whimpy beeper??? Or am I just spoiled with the WAIL of a BMW siren?

Goes off at strange times, too, like the other day when jacking the car, it triggered several time even though the car was unlocked and the key fob in my pocket. A press of the open door/unlock button would shut it up. It happened three times. The answer is probably in the manual but thought I'd ask...

Default I agree, I thought the alarm was pretty weak.

I was playing with the key fob in my pocket and hit the button by accident and was supprised my the weakness of the alarm. Won't attract much attention if something is really going down.

When your key was in your pocket, could the panic button have been pressed accidentally?

It's happened to me before. Also, before jacking up the car, disable the tow truck alarm feature.

Yes - calling it an "alarm" is of doubtful legality IMHO
