My car was due Oct 1..now not scheduled to arrive until Oct 29
My dealer called today to let me know that the boat isn't scheduled at port (NJ) until October 5, and the new ETA for arrival at my dealership (Iowa) isn't until October 29 (could be earlier). Not sure what delayed it, but at least I know its close. No big deal since I will be out of town quite a bit over the next couple of weeks and it would have just been sitting in my garage.
I also asked my dealer if they had any R8 orders or were expecting a car soon. He told me that Audi was requiring $100,000 "tariff" from each dealership for the privilege to order any R8's for 2008. Their dealership had passed on the opportunity as it didn't make good business sense to maybe sell one or two cars and they had no desire to pass the markup on to a customer.

The $100,000 was so that a dealer can service an R8 and...
get maybe one or two to sell.
I think dealers had to pay $250,000 to get more then a couple R8's to sell.
