Default Is my car permanently stuck in "S" mode....

when I hit the S button, light goes on, but I don't hear or feel anything different. Mind you, I'm not using full throttle or going above 6k rpm at this point. When parked, with the car off, both exhaust valves are open. Is this normal or am I stuck in S mode and therefore not feeling/hearing any change when I hit the button.

From my previous post....TPMS seems to be be a real problem. Malfunction light staying on. Tire pressures at 38 psi all around. The system tries to reset, states that it is storing new tire pressures when I go through the protocol, but warning light never goes off.

Default Start car, wait until rpms drop below 1k, then hit the "s" button

you'll notice the deep growl. Drive off an enjoy, :-)

Default Re: "Is this normal or am I stuck in S mode..." normal?-yes...and S-mode only changes the car ;)

Any chance you are picking up the other tires and they are low?

Are you going by the TSS pdf's at the link I posted?

Did anyone guess right? How much did they check/go over with you at delivery?

Default If you perchance to tail another RS4, you will notice

that the sport flap opens at idle, then closes on throttle from a Stop when Sport mode is off.

Presumably, this is to prevent moisture buildup behind the butterfly at idle when one exit is blocked.

That explains the visual.

The audible was explained by McGyver; sport mode cannot be heard at cetain rpm, notibly the off-idle rpm just after cold start.

Try this out: stand at the trunk when idling with sport mode on; it's deafening !

Default with the car stopped and idling, there should be an audible difference....

...when switching from S to non-S. At engine speeds above idle, it's not really noticeable.
