I was driving long distance about 7 hours yesterday for a trip and encountered some "inclement" weather. Around -1degree celsius and snowing...makes for not-so-fun driving. Anyhoo, while passing another vehicle who was speeding up to not allow me to pass, coming around a long sweeping downhill bend, whoa, someone else had lost traction and flipped their truck right in the middle of the road. Snow tires and quattro saved me big time, as i didn't have enough time to stop completely but was able to squeak by the accident unscathed. Everyone behind me was going every which way AND sideways after slamming brakes to avoid the incident. Later that evening all toasty and warm at home, i read that the highway was closed due to an accident right there.
Whew, close call...and i wasn't even driving that fast...there were maniacs out there spraying slush everywhere while passing people. Bozos everywhere, so beware!

sounds like your typical canadian courtesy...too slow or too fast...dont get it anymore.

good story. Glad you came thru untouched. Yeh, people do idiotic things in the snow...in the wrong cars.

Anyone anywhere who speeds up when you're passing on the left should be castrated, IMO...preferably right at the scene.
