Default My new (pocket-rocket) Beast. He shall be called...Mr Fin!

Pretty excited guys. Thought long and hard what to pick up alongside Buffy as a stablemate for more of daily routine duties (short trips to food market, blockbuster, parking in city for late night eves, etc.) Needed something 'pratical', but also fun and trackable. The 135i won my heart on many grounds, one of them being: mod-ibility.

My hands are itching for mods, and I learned the hard (and $$$) way on my M5 that the benefits of mods on a naturally aspirated engine are almost non-existant (hence why I am not doing much to the RS). Def diminishing returns after a while, and very bad bang-for-the-buck ratio. For about 10% of the cost of my M5 mods I can have even more add-on power in the 135i, thanks to people like Shiv, head of Vishu Tuning Vishnu Tuning (or Steve Dinan who I am inclined to pass for the time being). A simple re-tune from Shiv, coupled with a dual cone air filter get this little pocket rocket in the 400hp category, add exhaust and it's 420hp, which will give my RS4 a scare (and then some)!

So putting some thoughts together of transforming Mr. Fin into Mr. Frankenstein pretty soon. Stay tuned!

Default If you go with Vishnu..it'll blow your RS4 doors off....

I've seen low 12's 1/4 miles, and vids of the 335is raping M5s, I know the 135 must be a few hundred pounds lighter

Upgrade to TCK coils, and it will handle great too.

Default This car is the best modding platform out there right now.....

Give it a year or so and there will likely be comprehensive turbo upgrades too. If I were into a heavy mod project right now, the 135 would be it.

Default I hear the engine is very susceptible to overheating with the vishnu upgrade

I understand it's okay if your are doing short bursts, but prolonged high load driving with even the "low-medium" boost setting (I think it's like 15lbs?) will overheat the sucker very quickly.

If you plan on tracking, this may be an issue. But otherwise, the car becomes as fast as a bloody C63 AMG. I've raced one for my self, and that was the 335 that's a couple hundred pounds heaver than the 135! It's was like it had thrust by the hand of lord vishnu himself!

Default One of the better ones perhaps but any 1.8T, 2.7T or 2.0T FSI are surely better. Then there are...

The STIs and EVOs too.
