Default My RS4 doesn't sound like it used to

In the past week a viral infection has damaged the nerves in my right ear and I've lost nearly 100% of my hearing. (My left ear is, so far, unaffected.) This is certainly a manageable situation but one of my disappointments is that the RS4's V8 just doesn't sound the same any more. I was clearly getting most of my aural enjoyment from the engine through my right ear. :-(

Maybe this is a good enough excuse to get an exhaust upgrade? :-)

Default The only question now is, "Milltek or Magnaflow?"

Sorry about your hearing. The really important question: Is there a possibility of recovery?

Thanks. There's some chance of partial recovery, how much unknown.

Forget the car, I hope you recover 100%. Good luck.

I would not waste any money on auditory upgrades without good ears. You may not hear the Milltek either. Keep the rear seatback down and think about some visual upgrades.
Good luck.

No, thank goodness. Both of those involve pain and facial problems. My inner ear structures appear to have been damaged somehow. I'm not in any pain. Other than the hearing loss my only other symptom is some mild vertigo.

It's either probably a viral attack, something called Meniere's Disease, or an autoimmune response (which is very rare, but it's what Rush Limbaugh had). Those are listed in increasing likelihood that it will affect my other ear, so I'm hoping it's the first one.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.
