Default This was mostly driving NOT the car. Still feels good.

M3 was braking very early.

Default Looks like those were race tires, no?

If so I'm not suprised you reeled him in, he'd obviously have to lift for you to pass him on the front straight though, and we both know that, heh.

Good driving though, I'm sure you could turn some faster lap times in that CSL

Default He was obviously on a slowing down lap seeing as ...

you passed him at the beginning of the straight. An RS4 won't even pass an S4 at the start of a straight. In fact even an M3 won't pass a 330 like that. When 2 cars are racing you need to run him down the whole way & pass him in the braking zone. Especialy a CSL that has a better power to weigh ratio than an Rs4.

BTW, I beat a GT3 like that once. I think I might even have it on video. Pity the guy was an even worse driver than me & with superior brakes & less mass was still braking a lot earlier than me.

Default It's all about exit speed ...

It's not obvious to me that the CSL is on a cool down lap. It looks like the RS4 exited the corner w/ more speed (i.e., better driving or possiby the RS4 is easier to drive fast). The RS4 does not own the CSL like the video suggests.

Last time I checked the M3 CSL has Pilot Sport Cup's as OEM. That's a race tire.

Default Exit speed in the 1st few feet of the straight?

The CSL is a track car. It is much lighter & has a higher power-to-weight ratio than an RS4. It also comes with cup tyres. It laps the Ring in 7:50, which is faster than a Gallardo & GT3.
