Default NAV/CD changer question

On RS4 w IPOD hookup (no 6 disc changer) and NAV - will the DVD slot of the NAV play regular cd's or better yet MP3 cd's??

Or can someone explain to me about SD cards - I really know nothing about them??

Thanks in advance.....

Default NAV slot will play audio and MP3 CD's, but you lose navigation ...

SD cards are a far better bet.

Just format them to FAT32 on your PC and copy the MP3 files onto them. If you want more control over what's played then use playlists (.M3U files).

Use MUST use SD cards and not SDHC cards - they don't work. That means the maximum size is 4GB (be careful though 4GB can be either SD or SDHC).

The maximum number of files per SD card is 400, and the maximum number of "objects" (files + folders + playlists) is 512.

Default Actually.....

If you have a route programed it will carry over without the DVD in. But it can't recalculate and do all the other stuff.

Default 512 objects is correct, but not sure about 400 file limit. 99 item limit on playlists.

I have placed more than 400 files on a card and listened to all of them (an audio book from CD).

By the way, there is a 99 item limit on playlists which I find more irritating than the 512 item limit.

Default

400/512 seems to be SW version dependent. Safest to assume 400 and if you get 512 you're lucky!
