Need advice....
My first winter with the RS4 is quickly approaching, and thinking about winter tires as we get lots of snow up here. Plus I routinely head to the hills for some boarding.
I wanted to poll and see what others have been doing for winter tires/rims. I was thinking of just switching rubber on the OEM rims for dunlop winter sport 3D. I have used them before and they are fantastic! However, I wouldn't mind having a dedicated rim/tire set. What rims other than OEM have others tried?

I've been following this forum for some time - as you have too. Lots have gone with 18" Hartmans
and D3s - running 17" versions on my A4 last winter and they were fantastic

I have Dunlops on OEM 19's and they are great
That said, to get optimal performance, you should run 225 or 235 width tires on 18" wheels. You will still be better than 90-95% of the cars on the road with Quattro, stability control, and 255/35-19 Dunlop 3D's.

Here...
Get them sooner rather than later as they often sell out by early to mid-winter.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2Ftires.jsp%3FtireMak e%3DDunlop%26amp%3BtireModel%3DSP%2BWinter%2BSport %2B3D%26amp%3Bpartnum%3D535VR9WS3D%26amp%3Bvehicle Search%3Dfalse%26amp%3BfromCompare1%3Dyes%26amp%3B place%3D0
