if it's like the b6, there should be one bolt in the middle under a cover, iirc

Default Fold the seat backs down, remove the plasting cover over the hinge between them...

... this will expose a Torx bolt. Remove bolt, remove plate holding seat back pivots in place, be sure all electrical plugs are unplugged and cable ties are released, lift seat backs up at pivot side first then slide off hinge pins that are on outboard side of the car.

Default New mounting grommets needed when re-installing

The two front mounting grommets (-1- in picture) are supposed to be replaced each time you remove/install the seat.

Default Re: Thanks everyone

Thank you for the tips. I removed them last night in about 5 minutes. I didn't relize how easy it would be. I now have the airbag indicator on the display. I'll get rid of that next week.

Default Re: I'll weigh them later today

The reason I wanted to remove them was because a little birdie told me they weighed somewhere in the vicinity of 42lbs. After the bottom cushion was removed I thought this to be impossible, as it is light as paper, but come to find out all the weight is in the backrests. stay tuned

Default This is true...

Remove used mounting from chassis cut-out.

Insert new mounting grommet - 2 - into body cut-out until it clicks into place - 1
