Default need to install exhaust....do it at audi??..

would like to know if anyone has comments on pros/cons of doing 'aftermarket' upgrades at the dealer

they quoted me labor to be about $300 which is high but id rather not shop around for install shops and i dont have the tools/patience to do it myself

will they give me crap for having to ask them to plug the "s" lines ?

Default do it yourself its pretty straight foward. If its as easy as my A4 or old A6 atleast.

S lines are easy to plug, at least do that yourself.

Default honestly...

most important thing is work space, which is seriously lacking for me in brooklyn...i can go through the rest of the list but theres no meaning..its not a laziness thing, but i dont imagine that i would get that super accomplished feeling if i did it myself...and even if i would, its not worth the risk of having the exhaust fall on me, risk messing up the O2 sensors etc

just was looking to see if there is any serious reason not to use audi...otherwise it would be very convinient for me as i work around the corner from the dealer

Default Go to a good muffler shop.

My dealer installed the Milltek on my S4, charged me some $180, admitted they didn't do it very often. I was willing to pay because I wanted it "done right".

Ended up shifting all around and the tips were crooked and they just didn't do it right. Took it to "Wayne's Mufflers", the local guy who does muffler work all day, including custom stuff. He completely took it down and reinstalled it perfectly. $30.

With my Tubi, I went straight to Wayne. Perfect fit, $60 (they had to cut the stock pipes). Oh, and he had the factory exhaust neatly wrapped and packaged in my car for me. Treated me like royalty!
