Default need new front pads for track day...

but I am to lazy to search the forum.

I need an "upgraded pad" but it still needs to be decent for the daily drive to the office/ train station.

Thanks for the help.

Also, Are the front pads hard to install by yourself?

Matt

Default Changing pads is easy.

Why not get a dedicated track set?

Default 2500's are good but I have found they can have material build up and cause

vibrations that are similar in feeling to a warped rotor. I prefer the 3000's but you really dont want to drive them on the street at all as they will eat rotors alive if you dont get them warm enough...and street driving you dont.

I have not use 2500 on an RS4 with stock brakes....but on B5 S4 with Alcons and B7 A4 with Alcons....just for reference.

Default interesting... I've been running 2500s for a while now

and have noticed vibrations recently. Any way to remedy that?

Default I would have suggested 2500s, until I read Bauer's post below

modulation, bite are great... but I have just started having some vibration issues... StopTech ST40s w/ 355mm rotors, FWIW... on the S4, of course

When are you going out to the track next? I'd like to bring out one of the cars too

Default The deposits left will go away after a few days of driving...

its only some material left from the hard braking. Not a big deal. The DS3000 are a very torquey pad, and can do paint and wheel finish damage unless you wash your car right away, and hope that it does not rain. Its not the best high performance pad, PFCs are better then the DS3000s, but not sure if you can get them for the RS4. I used a ton of diff pads on my old M3 when I had it, it also had a full Brembo BBK set up.

Dont forget to upgrade the brake fluid and add SS lines, just as important, especially the brake fluid.

Default I'm considering the same thing

I'm leaning toward the Pagid blacks, though. I used them with my Stoptech 355s on my A4 and was very pleased with their performance.

Default I run pagid blacks on the track (again, S4 as I don't have the RS4 yet)

fluid is RBF600 and all lines are SS
