any1 ever had to replace there steering pump? it works perfectly now, its just when you **** the wheel all the way to the left or right it makes a screech noise(very embarrassing when your trying to park and millions of people are checking your car out).. so they checked it out and said it needs to be replaced. they also mentioned the motor might have to be dropped in order to replace it....

My power steering pump was replaced earlier this year. The drive shaft that goes from the transmission to the pump somehow seized up and sheared off the gear. I don't believe the engine was pulled to do the replacement.

No need to remove the engine and yes we have seem a good number of pump failures, mostly happens if at one time or another you run too low or empty of fluid

don't they all make a sound when held at full lock?
they pretty say not to do that
guessing it's a pressure relief/by-pass

yes they all make a certain noise, but this is more of a screech. loud and annoying
