Default New to Audi...

Funny thing, two weeks ago I did not even know what an Audi RS4 was. Well, I vaguely remember at last years car show, but it did not leave a lasting impression. I had a Corvette Z06, Porche 997S, a BMW 545, and a few others over the years but never considered looking at an Audi. Never knew they had "performance" type cars. I was test driving the new M5 and considering another 997 as my daily driver as I wanted something fun to drive every day. However, I was concerned the Porsche was a little to flashy and the BMW dealers are still asking over sticker. As I was talking to a Porsche salemen last week he was telling me about how one of is buddies just purchased a RS4. He told me to do some reading up on the car and do a test drive if possible. I picked up a few magazines and did some on line research. Luckily, a local dealer had one in stock (dealer owned with 2,000 miles on it). He threw me the keys and said, "Let's go, you will want one after driving it!" I had a good test drive...freeway on and offs, a twisty road, and a secluded wide open stretch were I let her run flat out until 120 MPH (did I mention the "S" button was on...what a sweet sound!!!). He was right! The next day I called 20 something dealers and found only three cars available. 2 black, 1 Daytona Grey. After back and forth negotitions, I purchased the Daytona Grey...#458. Wow! It is the perfect car for the street. Power, handling, sound, low profile and in looks mean! I don't think I will see to many of these bad boyz running around. A few people have already come up to me and said, "How did you get one of those. You never see these."

This car rocks!!! Can't wait until the 1,200 mile mark to hammer it!

Default You'll love this car ,UNLESS

you are **** about the oil consumption which seems to be endemic to this vehicle. Oil is cheap. Put some in when it is lost and live with it. If you are lucky, the oil consumption will diminish with time. BUT keep a close eye on it during the first few thousand miles. Also don't expect this car to be as reliable as a Lexus. Little problems will crop up. Of course, Audi will ever have the needed parts in stock when you take it in for service. Resulting in the 2 visit service protocal. One visit to diagnose the problem, second visit to fix the problem. Good luck and enjoy the car!

Default Re: You'll love this car ,UNLESS

yeah...my 2004 BMW 545i was riddled with issues, i.e., faulty idrive, sticking power windows, creeking door seals, a bad CD changer, warped tires, inaccurate gauge readings, a driver seat belt latch that randomly comes loose/off, two recalls, etc. Some of these issues have not been fixed to date. Still love the car though. It must be a German thing. I am sure if I have little things go wrong with the RS4 I would still keep the car...at least for a year or two...emmmmmmm, 2008 M3?
