Default New issue of Automobile magazine has 6 page review of the RS4

Dumb me, I had this mag since a few days ago when I picked it up at a news stand and just now noticed towards the back of the magazine a 6 page spread on our car.

Wtf, how come no mention on the front cover?

I am about to read it, I'll post what I find afterwards, unless someone else has read it already and cares to post now..

Default Gobs of praise and diplomatically worded criticisms...

One criticism was of the Recarro sports seats, which they felt became unfomfortable after hours of driving.

I don't know WTH they are talking about, I've never found those seats anything but the most comfortable on drives upwards of 10 hours.

In the end they had a lot of praise and they really liked the car. I like the fact they focus on driving feel and handling and completely eschewed numbers for anything, other than engine specs. There were no 0-60 or 1/4 mile tests reported.

I don't know if this is because they didn't actually test the car, but it seems unlikely as they were able to describe the handling feel in great detail. Hopefully its because there's more value to that IMO than some numbers that really don't mean much at the end of the day.

Default They're must be talking about the Euro seats. They look beautiful but...

outside of the track they would be uncomfortable for daily commuting. At least for me. After a little over an hour of mostly autobahn driving, that was my only critsism. I also really liked the look and feel of the Euro steering wheel but in the end I like the useabilty of the buttons on our cars. While I'm at it... Cupholders? We don't need no stinkin cupholders. The center console area just felt much more ergonomically correct with out them. My S4 just felt like there was always in the way even to just set the ebrake.

Default Unfortunately they meant the US spec seats, at least their pictures showed the US car...

Which is why I thought they were smoking somekind of substance, because these are very comfy seats IMO

Default His description of the engine noise at start up is spot on.

Yeah very favorable review. The engine really makes this car.

Default It still beggers belief that the cover did not mention this review...

and that its in the back of the magazine.

I don't want to sound conspiritorial, but I mean WTF!?!

This is the latest RS and a first in years. We know if a new M comes out its going to get much better placement.

Meanwhile they put a vaporware Gullwing on the cover...

Common already.
