New-to-Me 2008 RS4
Hello All,
My only planned purchase yesterday was a pair of shoes. By the end of the day, I owned an 2008 RS4.
I owned an 06 Subaru Legacy Spec B (stage 2) that treated me well. (That replaced, in 2006, a 2000 S4-also stage 2). My plan was to look at the next STi, sometime later this year, or an S5 when they get the supercharged 6, or bite the aesthetic bullet and consider an Evo. But in the meantime, I've enjoyed various automotive wonderings.
Yesterday, I pulled into my local Audi dealer--suburban Maryland/ DC--and there was a gray RS4 on the lot. I don't think it had made it into theur system yet. I thought about bringing my wife back to see it on Monday, but she convinced me to take a drive and see how I felt. 30 min later, the paperwork was started. I'm still in a daze.
My requirements for my new car were pretty simple: AWD, practical space, and sporty. Check, check, and check.
I'm going to get used to it stock before I start tweaking. It will be my daily driver. Set of winter ties/wheels later this year (suggestions). Maybe an exhaust if the difference between a 4.2 V8 and a 2.5 H4 ever gets old...
Time to update my signature.

Lucky you! I had to go all the way to Miami to get mine bc there were none in the area. What dealer did you get it from? I still troll the local lots and you certainly got it before I say it listed anywhere. We can setup a local meetup if you want to meet the RS4's in the area.

Thanks All.
Had I actually been looking, I probably would have talked myself out of something this "serious." As one of my friends who encouraged me to go for it noted, it's an adult car, though he added it has mature hooliganism.
Car came from Rockville Audi. Buying experience was fine, sales people were nice (and just as importantly, mostly drove cars I respect), though I was hardly a difficult customer. I didn't get what I wanted for the Subaru, but after fate delivers the car to your feet, you can only ask so much.

What dealer did you buy from? I'm in Philly and had to drive down to your area to buy mine a couple years ago. I bought from Rockville Audi and overall, it was a decent experience. I still remember the excitement bringing it home the first day. To be honest, that feeling has never really gone away. I still look forward to each and every drive. Two years is usually when my eyes start to wander to other cars. Not this time. Not even close.
Enjoy it!
Enjoy it!
