This color is nuts. People are constantly stopping me at lights, gas stations, snapping pics on the highway! I new the color was nice but didn't expect all this. Amazing car.

I have a few questions: I know that this has been somewhat discussed before but I could not help going past the "Audi recommended" break-in policy with the RPMs for the first few days since pick-up. Only violated a handful of times (prob like 10). Can you blame me? Haven't done it since and car now has 525 miles. What's the worst that can happen??

Also, I am probably being overly cautious and paranoid but when I park and turn off the engine I hear a distinct short 0.5 second rattle (seems like its coming from the back i think). Anyone else get this or know what it is?

Finally, other than a Vorsteiner hood does any tuning company make body/aero parts for these. I really think the car needs a simple front lip but am having trouble finding anything. Anyone got some suggestions for companies or parts?

no i got it from riverside audi in nj. i believe the one you are referring to is a cpo '07 but that one is glut orange not papaya. will take pics later on...got to clean it up!

I've seen it in person once, on a TT at TT-Central 2006. I'm sure the engine's fine if the RPMs were too high sporadically and for short periods.

I just don't get it why the Germans picked "papaya". "Sunkist" orange sounds better...Lol! But that Papaya color looks hawt!

Congrats, Mark, and no joke! I saw the car at Riverside back in Nov 07 (it is an early 08 build, and much to my surprise it has stayed at the dealer floor for 10 months!) At the time it had just come in, and they dared ask over sticker! Story alegedly was owner of dealership ordered it in the special color, hence required 'special pricing' (on top of the 3K custom color Audi charge). (The Papaya is the same as the older generation TTs, not to be confused with the Lambo Glut Orange, there are at least 4 RS4s in the latter, but only one in Papaya).

As months kept rolling, Riverside became more 'reasonable' and dialog kept going, but I was always brushed off by their antics. By the time Waterfest rolled, car had been sitting for 8+months in inventory, was officially discontinued, and new M3/C63/IS-F were hindering formerly unchallenged RS4 sales. So they became 'desperate' to sell it, in fact after the show, I got a call and was offered at 11K+ off the $77035 sticker. By that time I had bought my 08 Sprint Ti, but also over the months it worried me that I was among the minority of people that thought the car was HOT. I buy all my cars (vs. lease), so have to think about residuals and perception.

I love the color, it still is likely my favorite and one has to see it in person to appreciate it. But it is not for everyone, it is a color that either hits you, or one finds it too bold and gaudy.

Congrats again and hope to run into you one day! Hope they gave you the Orange Audi cap that laid on the dash for months ;-o)
