New RS4 observations....
(new to me anyway)
1. There appear to be spacers between the rear wheels and the brake rotors. They are embossed with "20.4mm", which I'm assuming is the thickness. No spacers on the front, though. 2. The RS4 4.2 V8 holds almost 3 quarts LESS oil than the S4 4.2 V8 (8.5qts vs. 11.3 qts). 3. The RS4 fuel tank holds 0.3 gallon more fuel than the S4 fuel tank (16.6 gal. vs. 16.3 gal.) |
Aren't the spacers supposed to be taken off during car prep?
you're thinking of shipping spacers on the suspension, these are wheel spacers.
Porsche uses them also, depending what wheels are ordered.
WTH? Why the 3 quart difference when they're both 4.2 L engines?
Really strange...
The RS4 pace car had 10mm spacers on the rear, but one of the SOT cars we had did not have spacers. Very interesting.
thats a fat spacer too, .75, right?
Re: WTH? Why the 3 quart difference when they're both 4.2 L engines?
Guessing smaller oil pan for clearance issues.
that is strange....now i'm curious what the other customer-delivered cars have.
interesting

The S4's engine oil capacity...
Is not 11.3 quarts as stated on Audi's web site. It is 9.5 quarts with filter change as per the owner's manual. I suspect the RS4's to be either that or closer to that.
