Default New Tires?

For those who continue to utilize the stock high-performance summer tires, what are your replacement plans? That is, will you simply replace the Pilot Sports or Pzeros or try something else?

Given the current wear on my shoes, I will most likely replace mine this summer. Although I plan on attending the Audi DE in October (Infineon), there will be no other "track days."

Default Currently, the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is probably the best max performance tire on the market.....

No reason to change. My car came with Pirellis. When they go, there will probably be some other "best" tire out, but for now, the PS2s reign supreme.

Default I just replaced my summer tires with Michelin PS2's - no feedback, as still wearing winter

rubber, but I went with the very favourable comments on the boards.

Default I had a set of PS2s on my TT...

until a local highway construction crew ruined one for me. They're very grippy, linear at the limit, less noisy than the P-Zero Rossos that came on the TT; overall I was very impressed. I'm also very happy that the RS 4 arrived with them, as the Continentals don't seem to be well liked, and I already determined I liked the PS2s better than Pirellis.

Default Bridgestone Potenza RE01R

I like these tires A LOT. I had S03s on my S6, been really happy with BStone... Not as popular for some reason, I'm not sure why.

Default I ran PS2's on my S4 and couldn't stand them. I've had the best luck with Goodyear F1's and S03's

Just my opinion. When you get to the range of tires that you are in there really isn't a "bad" tire among them. The Continental Sport 2 would be the only bad one in my opinion, but again, just my experience with that tire too.

Default I've heard good things about the F1 as well.

Although they supposedly have a mushy sidewall. I've never ridden on any; do you have opinions on this? Thanks.

Default The S03's are very heavy, which is why I tried out the F1's. I ended up loving the way they drove

so I have kept putting them on all of my cars. When the Pirelli's wear out on the RS I am sure I will be putting F1's on as a replacement, unless there is something better out by then. As far as the sidewalls being mushy, I would say compared to the S0-3 or Pirelli that is accurate. I would say the sidewall is just a little bit softer than the PS2. They are much quieter than the PS2's or the Pirelli's though. This is all my opinion, so everything may be different when you drive on them.
