No RS4 Drives at LA Streets of Tomorrow Event
Those of us hoping to drive the RS4 at the LA event are out of luck. I received a confirmation email from SOT with the following sentence:
"The focus of this event is on the all-new 2007 Audi Q7. Our other Audi models will also be available to view, and in some cases, drive."
I called the SOT concierge desk for clarification and they confirmed that the RS4 will NOT be available to drive due to the abuse by drivers at the San Diego event. Only "hot laps" as a passenger will be available.
As usual, it's a few bad apples that ruin it for others. Next time please act responsibly so others can experience driving this awesome car!

I can understand not letting just any person off the street test drive it, but...
...they should be going out of their way to try and get current S4 drivers behind the wheel for some seat time in the RS4. I got the invite for the SOT event and thought it was some sort of special event for current Audi owners, but later realized it was open to the public...no wonder there are 4 hr lines and idiots beating the crap out of these cars! <end rant>

Agreed...
You'd think that rather than banning everyone from driving, they'd at least let those who have an RS4 on order drive them. I have a letter from my dealer indicating I am getting one. I wonder if they'd make an exception.

That's too bad - but I can vouch for their reasoning; the smell of burning clutches was
quite apparent. (But don't blame me - my Audi escort thanked me for not abusing the car during my test drive.)
