Roll stiffness, etc.v. S4. Is it apparent or 'invisible'? Anything you want to say about it.

roll and pitch were minimal, and ride was comfortable at once. both were better than B5RS4

according to my one hour test drive up to about 100mph in Switzerland in Mar. 2005.
I felt the ride of my B5RS4 harsh afterwards, I also felt her brutal and stimulative acceleration, though.

the DRC seems to be much improved over the RS6s system...
...so far, the ride of this car is almost my favorite thing about the RS4. it feels tight and agile. but the ride is not harsh at all. even on 19s it feels better than the RS6 on 18s. and i don't bottom out in all my usual spots like i did with the RS6 (which was not common, but there are a couple spots where it can happen if i wasn't paying attention).
i don't know how much of this is attributable to the DRC,a nd how much is the shocks themselves. but i like!

the DRC was invented by Yamaha, produced in APA, and the system is equivalent for X-REAS in Toyota
The DRC sysytem is produced in APA, AP Amortiguadores SA in northern Spain, a plant owned by Kayaba Industry Co., Ltd. The system was developed by Yamaha motor, and they produces main mechanical control unit in their plant. APA makes the absorbers and assembles.

on development of DRC in Audi RS6 by Yamaha in this link (sorry mainly in Japanese):

The DRC system is equivalent for X-REAS in Toyota. They makes Toyota 4Runner with the system in it.
"X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension was designed to improve on-road handling performance. This technology links each of the vehicle's shocks to their diagonal counterpart via a gas/hydraulic chamber - front-left to rear-right, and front-right to rear-left. During cornering or traveling on a bumpy surface, the gas/hydraulic chamber acts like a bank, "borrowing" fluid from the cross-linked shock bearing the least amount of force and "loaning" it to the shock sustaining the greatest amount of force. This helps the 4Runner's wheels maintain contact with the driving surface and helps lessen vehicle body roll and pitch."

Hmmm, interesting... I find my Motorsports on my B5 far superior to the DRC on my RS6... the
DRC on the RS6 is too frim at low speeds and too soft at high speeds. Also, I have tracked both set ups and the DRC is easily upset on the track where the Motorsports are not.
But as Thumperer states and he has had both DRC's (RS6 and now RS4) and feels the latest version is an improvement. Which is good to hear. Not that the DRC on the RS6 is poor it is just not as good as the Ohlins, IMO.
