Default Ordering RS4, need help with wheels/snowtires >>

Alright, I've decided to order an Ibis RS4. The only equipment option I'm not sure about is the wheels: since I live in the mountains I need the best snow tires I can get, and since I plan to get some fancy street wheels in the spring, I was wondering if I might be better off with the 18" wheel option...

According to Tire Rack, the only snow tire available for the 19"s is a Dunlop Winter Sport in 255/35; does anyone know anything about this tire? I've had great experience with the Bridgestone Blizack, but know nothing about the Dunlop...

Also, since it's not an option on TR and I can't find the specs on AudiUsa, does anyone know how wide the 18" wheel is, and what size tire fits it? I'm hoping there is a Blizack in that size...

TIA everyone.

Default I had the Dunlop M3's on my B6 S4 and loved them, the 3D's are the replacement of that tire....

I also had the Blizzak LM-22's before that and I liked the M3's over them.

I beleive the 18" are 8.5 width, but I wasn't aware that they could be ordered on a US car.

I'm going with the 3D's for winter on my stock wheels.

Default M3's are fantastic all around winter tires. Solid on the hwy, good in snow and ok on ice.

It's going to be impossible to find any "real" snow tire for 19's...I checked w/ nokian today and they have 18" fitment for the RSi and Hakka2 fwiw.

Are the 19"s 8.5" wide as well? Thanks!

Default M3's are the tires I purchased for the snow.

I had the exact same brand and size tires on my RS6 and they were phenomenal. I am using 19" wheels and 255 width tire. This is not the optimal set-up for snow but I was willing to make the compromise for the improved aesthetics. If you want the best snow performance possible, get 18" wheels with 225 or 235 width tires.

Default Under $1700 at tirerack.com

225x18 Dunlop M3's. Easy to clean but heavy - great for the snow. Plenty of brake clearance. Ask for Luke.
