Why would the RS 4 not hit 400+? There has to be a reason other than Audi is lying......
For anyone who has been in one you know the GD car gives you whiplash and a 280hp car of its weight shouldn't do that. So can someone please explain why the hp and real road action of the car don't match?

The RS 4 blew the S4 away in non side by side test drive perception and the B7 S4 is what 340hp?....
Maybe his car was not reprogrammed from shipping mode from the dealer? What color was the car it might have been a slow one? :-)

It isn't expected that the car makes 420 hp at the wheels...
because some power will always be lost though the driveline.
However, 280 is too low. It should be over 300 though IMO.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of the cars were only making 390-400 hp at the engine.

Depends on the car and the dyno. There is no "standard" loss.
The best is to dyno at a shop that has enough expeience with quattro cars that they know what cars "should" put out. Basically all Audi Torsen cars of the same transmission type should have similar losses.
A "ballpark" figure for an Audi quattro car is 25% loss +/- 5% depending on dyno.
