Out of curiosity, has anyone looked into aftermarket replacement rotor rings for the front brakes?

Most floating rotors have replaceble rotor rings. Its kind of strange that someone hasn't sourced something for these cars yet. That would cut rotor costs in half. Just a thought.

Default I asked stasis about their alcons, and they said the annulus wouldn't fit or some crap like that.

Default something about a ring or sphincter, not really sure.

but seriously, I asked if their rotors would fit with the OEM calipers and they said no...something about the rotor annulus. hey, i'm not an engineer, ok?

Default dimension from inner diameter of disc to outer diameter of disc - yours is 60mm (if I remember)

most race discs have an annulus of about 54-52mm as the temperatures stay more consistent over a smaller annulus brake disc.

Default I see. I was just gauging interest in replacement rings vs. complete rotors.

They are obseenly priced.

Default That makes sense. You are refering to the part of the rotor that the pad contacts.

I guess the only option would be custom replacement rings. Probably not a cost effective venture.

Default good news Bob!

our upcoming R8 discs may fit the bill for an RS4 replacement!

Same caliper, different "hat" section. If there is enough interest we can build them.

Show of hands please?
