Default passed 1200 miles today, and checked the manual again for the wording on the break-in period.

page 251, btw:

"From 1200 miles to 1500 miles:
-slowly and briefly increase engine speed to 8250 rpm."

Slowly and briefly? WTF is that supposed to mean? LOL

Speed up to 8250 RPM slowly and then don't hold it there but for a short time.

Default I know, seriously..

I haven't even heard of anyone being refused warranty work because of "evidence" of a hard break in..

Default How often are you supposed to do this?

Once per day? Once per month? Or What?

I'm over my three weeks of hard/soft break-in and now at over 1500 mi. I've hit the rev limiter once or twice during ***** out accels - not hard to do in first gear when you're watching the turns. The engine seems right at home at high revs - no weird sounds etc... just pure S-button music. I try to keep the revs over 5000 when driving aggressively which really keeps it screaming along. The highest oil temp I've seen is around 250 degrees... and that was on a hot day. Also, I've burned about a half quart of oil.

no...added about 1/3 qt at 900-ish miles, and it's still full.

Default all day long.

the wording is pretty stupid. the next interval says:

"After 1500 miles:
-it is safe to drive at an engine speed of 8250rpm."

so I guess that means I can drive around at 8250 all day long...8-o
