Default This past weekend I went on a 3M rampage...

It took a while but have a great friend of a friend who has been trained in the installation and works for a local dealer of 3m clearbra products.

I noticed that I was surrounded by cars with door dings. It seems to be the trend for hospital parking lots. I decided to take a stand.

Clearbra was applied to all 4 doors, door handles, to the top of my rear bumper (you know the part that always gets scratched as you yank suitcases out with wheels), behind each fender, around the gas tank, and a big slab just in front of the sunroof. This is in addition to the front end treatment the dealer had thrown on. The work was fantastic!

It is notcieable as expected but only close up. The picture doesn't do justice but since I haven't relaly put a picture up, here it is, just after finishing up the 4 hours of fun cutting and slapping it on. (taken wiht my SE K800i - somewhat crappy shot)

Anyone in RI/Southern mass who wants to reach this guy - he is totally affordable and accessible. Feel free to email me. He does tons of custom work on the side for people.

Why not just wrap the whole car?

Default It would look much cleaner though, no lines to see.

I had my whole hood wrapped, rather then stopping 20" up and it really makes a difference.

Default Please kill the Dealer Frame....

Congratulations - that's one hell of a good-lookin RS4. Love Daytona.

In this photo you cannot tell the difference between the protected and unprotected areas - if that's true in real life, it certainly was done correctly.

One comment though. It's obvious that you take great pride in the appearance of your car and you are obsessed with maintaining it in perfect condition. Is there any reason why you still have that ugly MATTIE dealer frame on your plate? All it does is draw attention to the plate itself and to the multi-colored stickers in the corners. PLEASE make your perfect car truly perfect and get some good quality flat black or powdercoat black frames! (No chrome!)

Just my opinion.

Default *CAUTION* - Attempt at removal could result in hari kari.

That **** sticks like there's no tomorrow. It took me hours just to pull it from the front bumper alone, then remove all the adhesive with 3M adhesive remover. WHAT A PAIN!

The reason I removed it was because the protection it offered didn't trump the compromised look - dull with visible lines. I'd rather respray when needed than to use clearbra again.
