Default Peeewww! My Dad smoked my clutch :/ !

So I let my dad drive the car for the first time today.. Had my mom and aunt in the back seat, so it was quite the family affair.

Well, we hit a straight away (unpopulated highway connector) and my dad decided to see how well it accelerated. We were doing like 20mph when he started to accel hard. BUT, at one point (~60mph?), as the speed climbed and he shifted, the engine would rev but the car would only accel slowly. So he shifted up again and went on the accel and still nothing but clutch slippage. To make a long story short at the next traffic light the car REEKED ! Oh well, you can always buy a new clutch, but your dad doesnt get to drive a 400hp sedan every day.. hehe.. Later, when he ran into the store to buy something, I showed my mom and aunt how its SUPPOSED to be done Hehe

Thought I would share :P

How long did the it go on and what caused(Dad's foot?) the clutch to slip?

Default Great attitude about your Dad, by the way!

Many here get upset when a leaf falls on their car. You're right, you can always get a new clutch but not a new Dad.

Keep thinking that way and you'll lead a long, happy life.

That's very good news for all of us. A certain other brand's clutch would not come back after that.

Default Hallmarks of a Fine Aged Cognac-the slower you sip the smoother it slips down...enhancing the aroma

He must have been caught up in the moment...

or did the pedal stick?
