Default picking up car monday!

Hey guys,

Just saw my rs4 come off the truck. Mugello blue with silver interior makes for a stunning combo. Already have the milltek non-res waiting to be installed. Car really is beautiful. What are your opinions on the stereo system and the workings of the navigation system. Impressive, mediocre?

Congrats! Should post some pictures when you get it.

I don't use the nav much but it works pretty well. One thing I wished the interface had is a touch screen.

The Bose sound system sounds great. I have my base turned up a lot! It is also well integrated. One thing that is annoying is that the system comes on automatically everytime you turn on the car. And it comes on at some default volume. This was very annoying when I used to stall my car.

Default Gorgeous! For the level of adjustability, the Nav/stereo is acceptable, although now

based on some fairly old technology. Tunneling in to some functions are arcane, but those are usually ones you wouldn't access very often. The features you use the most, are fairly obvious. It goes without saying that you will need to carefully consult the owner's manual to take full advantage of all the features.

If you visit and search the telematics forum, you'll find answers to almost any question not covered by the manual.

Default The BOSE system for me is just perfect. It's the 3rd Audi with this system I've had.

I usually have the base and treble controls on zero and the car has enough bump for me. All passengers say it sounds amazing. I'm from the school of thought that a car stereo only needs to sounds good from the inside.

If you want to impress the car next to you ....you will probably rip the OEM speaker system out of the car and add more power.

Nav is very easy to use. Far easier than the BMW nav system. I just hooked up the Bluetooth system, too, and it makes it much less likely for me to rear end someone looking at the damn phone. The voice activation system works very well.

Haven't had any complaints about the Bose system....it's nice. But, I would warn you- don't go and listen to the Mark Levinson system they're putting in Lexus now, or the Bang and Olafssun that some Audis have- you'll be left wanting.

Again, what is the big deal with the Milltek exhaust? Is everyone just groveling over the sound? Doesn't seem like it adds any performance to the vehicle, and as far as I'm concerned, it already sounds great. Guy got in to help with the Bluetooth activation a few days ago, fired up the ignition and said, "wow, this thing sounds NICE!" How much does Milltek add for a few thousand extra?

If you manually switch the stereo/nav system off prior to turning off the ignition, it won't/shouldn't come on automatically next time you start the car.

once you have the exhaust installed, you probably won't care much about the stereo.

I added a high end sub and amp. Totally transformed the system.

2nd, BOSE is plenty good for a car. I prefer my music (1) live, or (2) at home
