Is it possible to change 2008 RS4 cabriolet from Sirius to XM radio?

I'd like to change from Sirius to XM to get MLB package. (Go White Sox!). Phil Long Audi in Colorado Springs took car in, having ordered the "RS4 XM conversion," but they say it will not work in the cabriolet, as the cab version of the radio has "only 1" input whereas the XM receiver needs 2 (which, he said, is what the saloon version of the radio has). I just find it hard to believe that the radio is different between the hard-top and convertible versions, as far as the ability to accept differing satellite inputs. Any insight? In advance, thanks for any help!

Yep, what brianja said.
Its pretty simple. It will take more time to get to the box then it will to make the change. No softcode changes needed with any of the onboard computers/nav system. (don't need vag com to do this) Plug and play.

You can buy the XM module from Carson @ Riverside.
If you want to drive up to Fort Collins I'll help with the install

Tech Article

Thanks so much! You'd think that, though I clearly didn't think of it, the Phil Long Audi guys would have thought of (or researched and found out about) the splitter. I'll look into the ordering and decide to either try it myself (less likely and more dangerous) or seek assistance up in Ft. Collins (more likely and less dangerous).
Thanks again,
Steve

Sirius RULES - go merger. So does Howard Stern.
The same applies to Robin Quivers, Gary "Bababooey" Del Abbotte and the rest of Howard Stern's extraordinary crew. Long live Howard Stern, The Great and his great crew!
Unless HD radio technology is ever used for satellite radio, DIE HD RADIO!!!!!
