Default is it possible to change the pad only?

my car is only 23K miles, will it be bad if just change the pad only? This happened so fast I want to buy some time to decide if I have other options like get Alcons.
How much are those Alcons going for?

If the rotors are not warped (vibrating) and are within the allowable minium wear specs then yes.

Default Too bad. Can you measure them yourself or do you trust your dealer? There seems to be...

A lot of people going through pads and even rotors prematurely on the RS4. 23K on brake pads is not that much.

I wonder if there is a problem. Did you call STaSIS to see what is available?

Alcons are $3400 for the 6pod 355mm rotors. Stasis has them of- course. My suggestion would be to upgrade to the Alcon rotors only but I'm not sure if it will work with factory 8pod calipers.

It could be the fact that these cars weigh close to 2tons.

Default Yes but still the S4 is close enough in weight and does not have your "better" brakes yet...

I don't see any of them have brake wear issues like the RS4.

Then there is this brake sensor issue too with this car. Weird something is not right here.

Default Where is thickness suppose to be measured?

I have a gouge on the outer edge of my rotor where they measured it to be 31.94mm. The rest of the rotor is fine. Since the minimum thickness is suppose to be 32.00mm, would this mean that the rotor is under min thickness?

Default I think they look at the whole rotor not just one spot on it. To have a rotor not evenly worn...

From its most outer to most inner section where the brake pads wear would mean a problem to me.

They may not be 100% perfect but they shouldn't be totally off too.
