Like the the title says, I've been having problems with checking my voicemail when the car is on. I can receive and send out calls perfectly, but can't check my voicemail. The bluetooth just won't play it. Any help would be great.

If I dial the VM and put in the password with the handset I can hear the messages without a problem.

because it's visual voicemail, the car doesn't recognize it as a phone call like the way most conventional cell phones check voicemail, and thus it never gets connected via bluetooth like a call.

No workarounds yet... maybe iPhone software v2.0, who knows?

the problem isn't iPhone specific. my blackberry doesn't work.

to dial VM and then hit the "source" button and go ahead and have the VM play through the iPhone.

At least then you don't have to shut down the bluetooth.

I think the messages are sent to the phone *from* VM and stored on the phone as MP3 files automatically. So you may be correct in that you have to actually make a call *to* VM to listen to the messages with the phone while the phone is paired.

I don't get a ton of VM, so I haven't played with it enough to be 100% sure of this.
