PS2 Puncture Advice
I have about 3000 miles on it and got a screw or nail in between the tread (the deeper area with the wear indicators). It is a 255/35ZR19 96Y XL CR. My local shop said that they will not repair if it is rated above a V. But the archives seem to suggest that a patch/plug combo may be OK. I would be grateful for any advice quicly as if I have to order a replacement I need to do so asap.
Snows will go on soon but I will have to face this sooner or later--I believe that if I do get a replacement I can just do one and move them to the rear, but if anyone feels strongly that it should be 2 please let me know... Thanks

Once you patch it- it essentially becomes a non-speed rated tire...
OK for routine driving , but if you take it to HIGH speeds for extended time with a full load in the summer desert heading for Vegas .... who knows ?

Thanks and a funny flat tire story for a slow friday...
Current tire repaired for $20, new tire on order to be mounted next week. I have now had 7 flats in the last 3 years. Add all the snow tires and rims/etc. and my wife is going to kill me if she hears the word "tire" one more time. Not to mention the multitude of bike tires and tubes.
A quick funny flat tire story, since it is Friday and all...
I was out cycling last year and I got a flat (much more frequent on the bike), so I put on my spare tube and go for another 20 mi or so and get another flat... Patch it and get yet another. So I call my wife to pick me up and as we are entering the garage, an old damaged bike tube on the floor punctures the tire on her car, and the air escaping her tire keeps filling up the tube, releasing, filling, releasing, etc... It was painfully funny: flats causing flats causing flats... So we get the tire repaired and decide to go play tennis. As we are in the middle of play, a torn piece of paper floats into the net and gets stuck. I go to retrieve it and it says 2 words, "flat tire."
So its obvious that I am cursed and I should just budget 300/month for flats I guess. Thanks again for the advice on the replacement.

Tire guy says 80% -90% of flats are in rear tire ....
His theory is that front tire " kicks up " the nail or screw so that it's pointy part is ready for the rear as it passes over !
One year I had 6 nail/screw/carpet staple repairs on an SUV- all of them on the left rear tire.
