Default purchase rs4 engine?

Is there a way to purchase just the 4.2L 420hp FSI V8 from the RS4 from Audi or any other source? If so where should i look and how much should i expect to pay? Thanks!

Default Hmm thats a bit pricey, but i wont be doing it for a while most likely

The URS4 Curb weight: 3839 lbs. It would be quite the inexpensive rocket but I'm thinking more along the lines on dropping one in the new S5 I'll be purchasing! Should be a relatively easy swap right? Is there any reason it wouldn't just drop in and run with the right ECU re-maping?

Default You'll need

Two ECU's and associated wiring (S5 FSI engine should use only one.)

Additional left and right water coolers (2), thermostat, non-return valve, after-run coolant pump and associated plumbing.

Modified air intake with additional capacity

Default Yeah thats quite a bit more pricey than i anticipated

If with all said and done its going to end up at 20k then it wouldn't be worth it. Might as well wait till 2012 to trade in the S5 for the RS5...

Or Call MTM for their S/C that should do the trick. But it will still be over the 20k mark

one could build a I-5 turbo to make well over 400hp for a lot less than $15k.
