Ive heard both.
Ive heard cars with Milltek DP both resonated and non resonated and I've heard a car with just the Magnaflow.
The Magnaflow sounded a little raspier imo. The Milltek was louder and a much more pleasing sound to my ears.

I had many compliments on the MagnaFlow sound while I had my RS4. Only heard resonated Milltek
from inside the car on a short test drive last winter at Stratmosphere in Rochester and my recollection is that it was not as high pitched. Of course this is very subjective, but people including modified Audi owners told me that it sounded exotic. Given the price difference I used the MagnaFlow and was very happy and made daily driving more fun. The build quality of the MagnFlow is very good. Of course, it does not have the oval tips of the Milltek, which is important to some. I never dyno'd it before and after installation. There was no drone at highway speeds. If you don't want the aural enhancement in overall driving, get the more expensive non-resonated/valved Milltek.

Need video to prove, but: Tubi.
This is the best sounding car I have ever heard (short of a Diablo, dear god...)
Best money I've spent. I had a Milltek on my S4, and I completely respect the product. but with the RS4: Tubi, man Tubi. No drone at all, unbelievable sound. It's the only Audi product they make.

I've OWNED both
The MagnaFlow was a smooth deep tone. The Milltek is SLIGHTY louder, a little boomier.
The major difference is that there is a tad more drone if you load the motor at 2K rpms or lower with the MagnaFlow, PLUS, the MagnaFlow quad tips really don't work well on the RS4...wrong long..too S4-ish.
MagnaFlows tips are chromed and double walled...will never turn gold. Milltek's tips are already gold after less than 1 year.
Which would I buy? The Milltek, for the tips alone. And no, you CANNOT change the MagnaFlow's tips without A) changing the mufflers or B) a bastardized hack/weld job.
