question for those who owned b6 s4/a4's before the rs4
aside from the flimsy crappy cup launcher on the dash, would anyone go back to the center console without the cup holder just to have the rs4 start button. maybe im sick in the head but id give up practicality and functionality for another cool button haha. should i do it, yay or nay? (i own the start button and the harness and everything to get it going from when i had my b6)

Don't do it....
Having used the "start" button on the European Avant I rented while in Germany, I feel it is a waste of time. You still need to put the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position and then hit the button. So, it saves no time at all.
I do like the look of the center console without the cup holders better, but I can live without it now that I can actually have a beverage in my car without worrying where it will end up.
Just my $0.02

How about Euro bumper(s), new wheels, etc...
at least those other people will see. If you want something for yourself on the interior alcantara or leather projects could be fun. The euro seats would be good for you too, at least you could fit in them comfortably ;-)

i actually just called scott about the bumper, idk if i could spend more on shipping than the bumper
and i thought about painting the insides of the spokes on my wheels just for something a little different. and for the alcantara... im already way ahead of you and the seats....im waiting for the right ebay.de auction haha but they will be done

It's a pain to install and get working....
if you really want to do it you are looking about $4-500.00 in parts, and who knows how much labor...I know how to do it if you are interested since I did it myself, but you may want to pay someone to do it if you are uncomfortable tearing your whole dash and steering column out.

nah i installed it in my b6 s4 no problems...
ran it up to a relay in my ignition, i still have the button and lighter assembly so it would cost me about 150-190 cus all i need is the console which is all over ebay.de unless i wanna pay full price from audi. as kevin knows already, i have ZERO problems gutting my car haha, i do it all to often. do you have it in the rs4?

Yes, I do; I'm in the process of a full euro conversion...
You'll need more than the console though...you'll need a new e-brake assembly and e-brake signal switch too, that's were the extra cost is. The stock one in the US Cars is about 3/4" to far to the drivers side and will not fit the B6/B7 Euro console. If I remember right the switch was by far the cheapest part.
If you want to do it correctly, (per euro layout) not that your solution isn't correct, I have the wiring diagrams and notes on which wires you need to tap/remove from your key ignition switch.
Just let me know.
