I took the RS4 on a long business trip today (very nice, comfortable, love the car) and a BMW 325xi came flying up behind me on the highway and blew past me. I stomped on the gas and caught up to it but this was no normal 325xi. It had a badge on the back that said "TIANO" or "TIAND" or "TIRNO" or something like that. The badge was in the same typeface as the "325xi" badge. It was an older-style BMW, pre-Bangle.

After I got even with the car (which contained two young guys who seemed surprised that I caught them) we encountered some traffic. After that he floored it again and I was able to easily keep up with him since he didn't have a running start this time. He couldn't get a gap on me. The RS4 was faster than this car but not amazingly so, certainly not by the margin you would expect over an unmodified 325xi.

Like I said, I got the impression these guys were surprised this lowly Audi could keep up with them. They stared long and hard as I passed them and said goodbye.

So, any ideas what that was? Is there some Tiano (or something like that) tuner group out there? I've searched the Web but can't find anything.

an 325 with a sc kit is wloer than the e46 m3, and the rs4 is significantly faster than the m3.I don't know how he could have kept up! Maybe a 100 shot of nos!!!

I would have thought it be the other way... How could a little ol 325 keep up with an RS4..
