Re-cross-drilling your rotors?
Sort of, at least.
I noticed the cross drilled rotor holes are plugged up with dirt/brake dust crud. It must impede airflow, and therefore, cooling, no? Do people routinely clear this crud out by poking through the holes with a nail or something? I'm sure not a big deal under normal driving.

You don't wanna "re-cross-drill", as you put it.

Cross drilling is for show only.
In the old days, pads would de-gas as they got hot, and you could actually get a thin layer of gas between the pad and the rotor. The holes gave the gas somewhere to go. It looked racy. People still think it looks racy, even though modern pads don't de-gas, so "sporty" brakes are often drilled, including those from Porsche and Ferrari. But if you look at race cars, they are slotted, not drilled.
