Default Rear seat fold down - leather damage warning...

This probably isn't an RS4 specific problem, but wanted to let you guys know anyway.

Went golfing last weekend and folded down the passenger side portion (2/3rds) of the rear seat to accommodate two sets of clubs.

Upon folding back up the following morning, there was a really severe bruise in the leather caused by the middle seat belt receptacle--still trying to cure this with leather treatment/conditioner.

If you're careful, the seat can be folded down with the seat belt holder pushed down mostly out of harms way, but some kind of padding may still be advisable.

Be aware of this...my back seat doesn't look too cool right now...

Default The same thing can happen with a child seat.

At least it did on my RS6. It eventually went away, but took quite a while.

It'll go away, but it may take a week or more.

Default Since I rarely have 3 back seat passengers, I did this:

I took the whole midddle seat belt and wrapped it behind the seat back while the seat back is openned, then closed the seatback . It puts the belts and the latches out of view behind the seat. I got tired of the belt buffetting in the wind with the windows down. Plus it looks better. Can be retrieved if necessary.

Default yeah it applies across all B6s/B7s... i ended up stashing the buckle under the bench...

it's really rare i carry more than 4 passengers, much more unusual than putting the backrests down... so gone is the middle seat belt buckle... beside it's really easy to take the bench off to fish that buckle out if needed...

now while dealing w/ my set of Recaro seats which have a couple of deep marks in the leather, i was told these marks could be removed by "gently" heating up the area... i haven't personally tried it yet though...

Default Dude, I can fit three bags in my trunk without folding the seat down....

diagonally. But, I am sorry to hear about the leather bruising. I hope it comes out!
