Removed my resonators (video)
Decided to have my resonators removed and replaced with straight pipes to see how it sounds, figured if I hated it I was gonna buy exhaust eventually anyways.
Went to a muffler shop and it only cost me $90, so I decided to snap some quick movies with my point and shoot camera (so turn up your sound).
Overall it came out pretty well, its quite a bit louder and it has a nice bassy tone in s-mode. Now you can really tell a difference between s-mode on and off. There is no real drone and its stock quiet if you are maintaining speed. But once you press the pedal more it really wakes up and sounds pretty evil.
I'd love to compare it with other aftermarket exhausts like milltek, magnaflow and gmg.

mgdsh is getting his GMG installed on Wednesday
Perhaps the four of us (including gtg) can get together in a couple of weeks. . . not sure if there are any magnaflow owners here in the Bay.

Can you make a video of you revving in sport mode and non sport mode.
Sounds great but do you think it is too loud for a family car/daily driver? I drive the car with my family on a daily basis. Thanks..

Just down remove cats: Too noisy + no hp gain = not for me
I've talked to a couple of tuners now and having previously worked for MagnaFlow, the consensus is that there is no hp gain with downpipes/removing cats.
All of the commercially available cat back systems seem to offer good gains (20hp+) and I would definitely opt for one without resonators.

engine not too loud after Resonator removal....
especially if in non S mode, drone is minimal even less than w resonator, only when u go leadfoot will it wake up and let u know of its presence, I take my parents sometimes in the car no complains from them.
