reprogramming door locks - dealers says it can't be done. WTF?
Background: My current car is the eleventh Audi I've owned, going back to a 4000CS in 1986.
Since Audi came up with remote door locks, I've had every car reprogrammed to open all doors with a single click of the remote. It took all of a few seconds on the computer to change the appropriate value. I recently took my car in for the 5K service and asked to have the lock programming changed.
Now - with my RS4 - the dealer says that as of 2007 Audis can no longer be reprogrammed in this fashion. I've been fed lots of BS from Audi over the years, and I'm not inclined to buy this story.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone been successful in getting the locks reprogrammed?
