RS 4 vs. IS 350
OK, so on paper it looks pretty simple, especially if there is a little grease on the road. A friend is about to pick up a new IS 350 and he has been talking a little smack.
I'm confident that he'll see nothing but those giant pipes under the back of my RS, but I haven't seen any real world performance numbers on the IS.
Anybody had any run-ins with one?
Has anybody seen a magazine test?

More serious than your answer
A simple question. I know how fast my RS is. A little good natured needling between friends - one with and RS and one about to have an IS. When it comes to it I KNOW what his view will be.
I simply asked if there were any reports - real world or magazine that anyone had.

If he thinks his IS 350 can beat your RS4, race for slips :) - if you have a S4 disregard

Come on now......
I have routinely smoked my friend's IS 350 in my stock S4. The IS is a nice car....a nice Japanese car....It has some nice lines...but sit in that, then in the S4...The RS4 is a full second and 1/2 faster 0-60....

Actual real world numbers on the IS have been high 5's low 6's. The manufacturer had posted 5.3 or 5.6 sec times, however no magazine was able to even come close. It might be that the production U.S. model has increased weight issues. But tell your friend that comparing his IS to your RS would be like someone comparing a Volkswagen GTI to his IS.

I never doubted the result, and BELIEVE me, my friend knows that. I don't pay any attention to Lexus and didn't know what the performance was. That's why I asked.
