RS4 0 NYC pot hole 1 :( rim warranty was a damn good buy i guess
So ya....great night tonight....going through a red light tonight - MAYBE at 4mph...literally stop and go traffic on nyc side streets....suddenly the right side of the car dropped down and i heard a huge thunk sound...they are doing construction there and clearly left a gaping hole...it TORE open the tire, split the rim as well...all at ultra low speed...
instantly the tire was flat...thankfully the dealership still had people there and was only 3 blocks away...managed to limp it there...
and then getting out of the car my phone fell out and landed face down - cracking to **** hte glass-like top of the iphone....
****ing great

NYC streets are such a joke...
You'd think with all the wealth here, there'd be enough to keep roads in functional shape - I've bent 3 high-end BBS rims at low speeds in the City over the past 2 years, so this is all too familiar

Why waste time fixing the roads in NYC when they are always ripping them up to do more work...
The BS is that they leave craters in the middle of highly traveled roads without warning.
When I drive in the city I drive extremely slow, don't switch lanes often, and keep a good distance from the car in front of me so I can see what's coming.
You just have to be super careful anywhere you go.

sorry to hear andy. here's are some tips...its no fun but when you are driving around in nyc
don't get too close to the car in front of you even when at a light...you'll never see those random holes. always always see how other cars fair over the section of the street directly in front of you. yeah it sucks, but i learned my lessons years ago. i think i have trashed more tires and rims than anyone else before I learned. I haven't bent a rim ore popped a tire in several years now..aside from a bubbled blowtenza in a ditch not too long ago.
