RS4 or 911S?
Hey,
Background:
Back in '05, I purchased a 1998 A4 Q2.8 w/ 65K miles which I loved but had to sell when I just could not keep it out of the shop...I still lust after them audis. Much different financial situation now...and I want a toy.
The question:
Which toy? Either:
Porsche 911S
-fantasized about since age 10
-more head turns (by non-audi-heads)
-nicest exterior of all time
or
B7 RS4
-could fit more than 2 people (I have 2 sons) and it would be fun to take them for an afternoon drive (slowed down a little)
-in theory could use more often? (AWD could handle it) - but I'd prob just drive the truck (Silverados kick ***) in bad weather either way.
-nicest interior anywhere
-fewer people suspect personal financial situation as much as if I drive up in 911S
I realize most people don't compare the 2 steeds but I've always wanted that Porsche until I drove A4 and learned of RS4...besides I hates me some M3s or Benzs (AMG).

I used to like 911's until I thought they all looked the same.. now I take a pass
I'm probably too much focused on appearance, but who the hell wants a car that looks like a base carrera.. I mean even the TurboS looks like a carrera to a regular person.

That's one reason I like the RS4 (and 997TT)
Both look like tarted-up base models to the uninformed. The enthusiasts can easily tell the differences but the average person just thinks it is a nice looking car. Stealth.... :-)

Re: I'd buy the one I want more.
Both amazing cars, I had the same quandry. I have had a 911 Carerra before and really loved it. Very nice car. I needed more space hence the decision to buy the RS4 which doesn't give up much in the way of performance to the 997 S.
Basically go with your gut, what makes you smile more.
My opinion, since you have a silverado which I assume has space, get the 997s, either way you can't go wrong!

Exactly. A4/S4/RS4 look pretty much the same. But atleast the A4 look isnt as 'worn out' as a Pors
In comparison I mean.. The A4 has been around a while, but the porsche looks unchanged since the early days. Some people claim its a classic. Others claim it looks like a beetle.
I used to love them.. But now give me a ferrari or lambo anyday.
