Default RS4 aluminum steering wheel

Hi folks

just picked up my RS4 at the dealership recently. Wow what a car. Never had anything like it. The only thing which is disturbing me is that the guy at the dealership told me the european one looks even nicer because it has an aluminum sport steering wheel and better, lighter seats. He showed me some pictures of the european interior and when I saw that wheel I knew I had to have it. I'm new to this forum and was wondering if any of you know how to get a hold of that aluminum wheel.

Default Just so you know, it's not aluminum, its plastic, and those seats..

are not as comfortable (or safe) after long periods of driving... BUt yeah they're lighter, no doubt about that.

And that wheel has not yet been made to work with our blue tooth stuff.

Default You will lose the multi-funtion controls on the wheel.

Nobody has been able to get the controls on the optional wheel to work on the US cars.

Default Yo, 4Pacemaker4: check out this link for the group buy.

We are currently at 17 and we only need a few more to make it to the 20+ price mark.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/groupbuys/msgs/587.phtml">click</a></li></ul>

Default IMO it is only a matter of time until all of these functions become...

active on the wheel. This wheel is relatively new to the market (U.S.) and has not had much research on it to make all of the buttons work. As you can see, the demand is there and a tuner will make the buttons active if the demand for it is apparent. Correct me if I am wrong, but there would need to be some sort of ecu remap to recognize the new control and a new connection from the wheel to the internal housing for the electricals in the steering column.

It may take a bit more, 4 buttons vs. 2 wheels and 2 buttons? I don't know.

My biggest issue is that nobody knows for certain whether the airbag will work.

Default Agreed, plus there is potential hazard in the crash deformity of the wheel itself..

Which people keep forgetting to mention.
